Our Worship Style
“friendly and caring to one another – reverent and open to God”
Worship at West Bridgford Baptist Church is a blend of contemporary and traditional styles. We want to offer the best to God and we want to be a fellowship which welcomes and supports everyone.
We:
- sing songs and hymns
- have a music group and an organ
- use a big screen and offer hymn sheets for those whose eyes need the help
- believe in biblical preaching and fresh expressions of our devotion to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Worship is usually led by our pastor and a team of musicians and worship leaders. Morning worship at 10.00am lasts about 1¼ hours. and begins with a note of celebration as we join in all age praise. The children and young people leave for their groups (crèche through to teens) after about 25 minutes. Each month, usually on the third Sunday, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) and invite all who seek to follow Jesus to share with us.
On Sunday evenings we meet on the first Sunday of the month at 5.00pm for informal worship which includes the Lord’s Supper and is followed by a cuppa.
From time to time we welcome people to an Open Door service on Sunday mornings. There is something for everyone, it’s interactive and fun – but the focus is always worshipping God.
The Church has disabled access along with a loop system and the availability of large print words so that our worship is accessible to all.
We aim to be both friendly to visitors, caring to one another and reverent and open to God. After each service coffee and other drinks are served while we enjoy a time of fellowship. If you would like to visit one Sunday and share with us in worshipping God we would be delighted to welcome you.
